We are Stina & Matti and we live in Northern Sweden in a small place called Jokkmokk. Except for making videos we also run a small company called Jokkmokkguiderna and a kennel called Working Husky Kennel. We offer guided outdoor tours in Swedish Lapland all around the year. During the winter we mostly do dog sled tours and in the summertime, it’s hiking tours, wildlife safaris, canoe, and packraft trips. We live year-round in Jokkmokk with our Siberian Husky and 2 Border Collies.

I used the Thermacell Backpacker 2 days ago on a camp in a vindskydd and it took away almost all mosquitos 👍

Great vid much enjoyed it's like that in my north country and pretty bad here in the mountains of Kentucky USA. Thick clothes and repelant. Benadryl. All part of it. Just don't take a sit fown unless you really have to. All good. Beautiful skies. Next time

Nice video as usual! I live on the West Coast of Norway, where the mosquito situation is not so bad as in the North of Scandinavia, but I have spent some summers in Finnmark, where the mosquito situation can be similar to what we saw in your video. When it happened to be that bad, we usually had a small fire going up wind to the camp, and then we put on some green brush that created a lot of smoke. Usually that helped a lot. The only time the smoke end of the fire is the most popular position! 🙂
Yes, smoke is good to keep away mosquitoes.
I think the machine with the fan blew the mozzies to Stina’s side of the tent… Crazy how much mozzies you’ve got. Another reason to live on the other side of the world! 😂

Oh wow, a mosquito cloud!!! Will they be that bad when we go on our 5 day hike this August?! I was planning on bringing repellent but this video suggests more aggressive measures are needed. Yes? Please advise!
Hi Ariane! It is impossible to predict how the mosquito situation will be at the end of August. Could already have had some frosty nights up in the mountains at that time, and then it would be much better with fewer bugs. /Stina

When I was young I drank lots of beer , and smoked lots too. I never really got bitten by mozzys... Now I don't smoke or drink and they feast on me... Take care out there.
Hmmm... I would guess it was the cigarette that made them disappear, or maybe they don't like blood with nicotine and alcohol 😉

I have been inhaling several mosquitoes these yeas, which is unusual for me. So they must either be slow or really many!

Is there a reason why you don’t use a head net?
Don't like them. Feel so trapped and har to enjoy the views with a black net infant of your face. If it's warm, you also get very sweaty. /Stina
Not very practical when you want to drink coffee or eat ;-) And many people, including me, do not like them for several other reasons.
